The Jackson boys basketball team didn't net a field goal until the second quarter as it lost its season opener 60-36 to Poplar Bluff in the SEMO Conference tournament Tuesday.

Cody Green led Jackson with 11 points.

In other action, Central rebounded to post a 51-45 victory over Charleston.

It was the first time Central beat Charleston since February of 1999.

The Tigers got 14 points from Rick Russell and 11 from Zach Boerboom in the victory.

Menz finished first in the 200 individual medley (2:20.96) and 100 backstroke (1:06.09).

Central's Annie Wolpers won the 50 freestyle (25.58), 100 freestyle (58.08) and helped the 200 medley relay, along with Mary-Catherine Ford, Shannon Nuyt and Jennifer Willett, finish first.

Jackson's Cailin McGinnis captured first in the 100 butterfly in 1:05.10, while teammate Allison Hobbs won the 500 freestyle (5:31.69 and the 200 freestyle (2:05.24).

In diving, Central's Tara Volkerding finished first with a 166.20.

Notre Dame won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:48.61.

Jackson captured first in the 400 freestyle relay in 4:13.01.

St. Vincent 112, Perryville 88, Saxony Lutheran 59

Anna Esswein took first in the 200 freestyle (2:13.46) and 100 breaststroke (1:17.98) to help lead the Indians to victory.

Lizz Brueckner won the diving (137.05) for St. Vincent.

Saxony Lutheran's Madison Rau took first in the 200 individual medley (2:49.25) and 100 backstroke (1:19.18), while teammate Katie Schweiss was first in the 500 freestyle (7:25.07).

Perryville's Megan Lundy was first in the 100 butterfly (1:19.90) and the 50 freestyle (30.00).

Sarah DeWilde won the 100 freestyle (1:14.02).

St. Vincent won the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay, while Saxony Lutheran won the 400 freestyle relay.
