Southeast Missouri State women's basketball coach John Ishee is excited about the first assistant that will join his staff.

Isee, looking to fill all three of his assistant positions, has taken care of one spot with the hiring of Angela Lewis-Moore.

Lewis-Moore, a former standout player at Saint Louis University -- where Ishee served as an assistant during her freshman season -- spent last year as an assistant at Division III Webster University in St. Louis.

"I'm very ecstatic to have Angie joining our coaching staff. I had the privilege of coaching her during her freshman year at Saint Louis, where she became an outstanding player, student and ambassador to the university," Ishee said in a release. "I think that she will make an immediate impact for our student-athletes based on her collegiate and professional playing experience along with her outstanding leadership in the classroom.

"I'm also looking to her in being an immediate recruiter and I could not be happier with her joining the Redhawks."

Lewis-Moore was a four-year letterwinner at Saint Louis, where she was named the school's Female Athlete of the Year in 2004 and twice captured third team all-Conference USA honors.

Lewis-Moore ranks sixth in school history in points (1,300) and rebounds (659).

After completing her collegiate career, Lewis-Moore played professionally in Germany during the 2004-05 season.

Lewis-Moore spent one year as an assistant high school coach in St. Louis before going to Webster University last season.

"This is an amazing opportunity for me to be part of a good basketball program like Southeast," Lewis-Moore said in the release. "Coach Ishee is very knowledgeable of the game and I'm very humbled that he called me to be a part of his coaching staff.

"I'm looking to help these ladies continue their success that they have achieved over the last two years."
