ST. LOUIS -- Jackson and Cape Central competed in the Class 4A sectionals at Jefferson Barracks Park Saturday with mixed results.

Jackson will be represented by two boys, Josh Minson (14) and T. J. Humphrey (20), and two girls, Nicole Fadler (16) and Carol Koenig (18).

Krista Mouser, a state qualifier last year, suffered a fall and missed a chance to return with a 34th-place finish.

Cape Central qualified three boys, but the girls, who were expected to do well, had only one qualifier for the state meet.

Jake Knepp (22), Josh Revelle (27) and Mike Gerber (28), the only three boy participants for the Tigers, advanced along with freshman Jennifer Pancoast (20) on the girls' side.

"The boys all ran exceptionally well and had to just make it through and that was exciting, but we were very disappointed with the girls race," said Cape Central coach Mark Hahn. "We expected better."
