CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Southeast Missouri State University sophomore Dan Huesgen pitched 10 scoreless innings in relief Sunday as the Indians beat Austin Peay 6-3 in 11 innings.

The victory completed a three-game sweep of the Governors, moving the Indians into a tie for second place in the Ohio Valley Conference with Tennessee Tech. It's the second straight year the Indians swept Austin Peay.

Southeast is now 20-12 overall and 9-6 in the OVC. Austin Peay fell to 13-22 overall and 5-10 in the league.

"This is a real thrill to get a sweep on the road," said Southeast coach Mark Hogan. "We played very well all weekend."

Trailing 3-2 in the second inning, Huesgen relieved Southeast starter Daniel Rodriguez after an inning-opening double by the Governors. Huesgen retired the next 12 Austin Peay batters through the sixth inning as the Indians rallied to tie the score 3-3.

Huesgen (3-1) struck out 14, allowing only four hits and no walks. Only one Austin Peay runner advanced to second base while he was on the mound.

Said Hogan: "Danny came in and did an outstanding job."

After tying the game 3-3 in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Steve Lowe to score Jeremy Johnson, Southeast eventually got the win with three runs in the 11th.

Charlie Marino's two-out single to scored Johnson to put Southeast ahead 4-3 for the first time in the game. Dave Sommerkamp followed with a double to score Marino and then scored on an error to provide the final score.

Phil Warren got the Indians on the board in the second innings with a two-run single. Southeast out-hit Austin Peay 14-7, with Lowe, Marino, Warren and Darin Kinsolving all getting two hits.
