~ Defending Class 1 state champion St. Vincent posted its fifth straight victory with a 42-8 decision in the district opener

St. Vincent turned two interceptions into touchdowns, and Waylon Richardet scored two TDs to lead the Indians past Chaffee 42-8 on Friday night.

The Indians (6-2) won their fifth straight game.

Though this was a nonconference game, they are perfect in the Mississippi Area Football Conference Blue Division for small schools at 4-0.

The Indians this Friday will host Ste. Genevieve Valle Catholic, also 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the MAFC Blue.

More importantly, after Valle's 29-8 nonconference win against Hayti on Friday, next weekend's clash will go a long way toward determining the Class 1 District 1 champion.
