BENTON -- Jerod Hull of Sikeston held off Brooke Tatnell to pick up his fourth Winged Sprint feature win of the year during the most recent action at Missouri International Racepark.
Tatnell, of Tempe, New Australia, won the right to sit on the pole of the feature after winning the dash. Hull finished second in the dash.
Starting from the pole, Tatnell jumped to an early lead and led the first 15 laps before Tatnell got caught behind lapped traffic, enabling Hull to close in. Hull passed the leader coming out of the fourth turn to take over the top spot.
Hull went on to lead the final 10 laps of the caution-free race to earn the $1,200 first-place prize. Tatnell, racing for the first time at M.I.R., finished second.
Mike Ward wound up third, with Todd Rowland fourth and Kevin Steptor fifth.
Greg King of Sikeston moved around Billy James of Sikeston on the final lap of the Super Street feature to take the win. King collected his fourth feature win of the 1997 season.
James was second, with Greg Gross third, Larry Hull fourth and Randy Martin fifth.
Terry Johnson of Benton stepped back into familiar territory with the win over Johnny Wyatt of Scott City in the Modified feature. Rounding out the top five were Steve Zelch Jr., Terry James and Gary Kinder.
Keith Brugger of Jackson held off Cline Myers Jr. of Scott City by a half-car length to pick up the Pure Street win. Cline Myers Sr. was third, with Joey Mack fourth and Joe Floreck fifth.
