BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Southeast Missouri State University's women's basketball team made it three wins in a row Saturday with an 89-48 rout of future Ohio Valley Conference foe Samford.
The Otahkians (4-2) dominated on defense and forced 30 turnovers. Southeast held Samford (1-5) to 40 percent shooting from the floor and only 10 percent from three-point range.
On offense the Otahkians shot better than 50 percent from the field and shot nearly 90 percent from the free throw line, going 17-of-19. Yashika Sidbury went 2-for-2 from the line and has made 19 straight free throws over three games.
Southeast had four players in double figures, led by Carina Souza and Lori Chase with 18 apiece. Kenja White had 13, as did Sarah Costello. Souza also led in rebounds with seven.
Another key for Southeast was taking care of the ball: Southeast had a season-low 13 turnovers in the game while collecting 18 steals. White and Tiffany Ryan led the way in steals with five apiece.
