Fifth-seeded Advance needed double overtime Thursday night to dispose of No. 4 Scott City 66-59 in a rematch of last year's University High Christmas Tournament final.

The Hornets advanced to the semifinals where they will play No. 1 Charleston.

Advance also beat Scott City at Scott City on Dec. 15 and has knocked off the Rams three times in its last four meetings.

Advance's Andrew Jenkins scored 17 points, while Jared Ritter added 15. Jenkins, who had just one point going into the fourth quarter, scored six points and Ritter scored five in the second overtime.

"We got some good production out of everybody," said Advance coach Jim Hall. "We did some stupid things there at the end, but we got some good play off the bench. Jon French probably played one of his best games. He doesn't score a lot, but he played some good defense."

The score was tied 41-41 at the end of regulation.

Scott City's Craig Jungers banked in a 3-pointer at the buzzer of the first overtime to tie the score 51-51.

Nick Steimle led Scott City with 16 points, followed by 13 by Ben Sample.

"We just came up a little short," said Scott City coach Derek McCord. "I thought the effort was there. We didn't shoot the ball well. It's one of those things against Advance. Seems like they shoot 50 free throws and we shoot nine."

"One thing helped us is Scott City has not shot the ball well against us," Hall said.
