J.J. Henry shot a 7-under-par 63 on Saturday to grab the third-round lead at the Buick Championship before an appreciative hometown crowd.

Henry, who grew up in Fairfield, Conn., strung together three straight rounds under par and was at 11-under 199 heading into Sunday.

Henry made good use of his putter. He made a 15-footer for birdie on No. 15 and a 12-footer to save par on the 171-yard par-3 No. 16 before sinking a 25-footer for birdie on the No. 17 signature water hole at the TPC at River Highlands course in Cromwell, Conn.

Harrison Frazar (65) was two strokes back and alone in second place. Ryan Moore (67), coming off hand surgery in March, and Colombian rookie Camilo Villegas (66) were three strokes off the lead.

Champions Tour

David Edwards missed the last three greens in regulation but still shot a 2-under 70 to take the lead heading into the final round of the Greater Kansas City Golf Classic in Overland Park, Kan.

With strong winds gusting and temperatures soaring into the upper 90s, Edwards' 11-under 133 left him one stroke ahead of Brad Bryant, who shot a 69 on Saturday.

Keith Fergus, Gary McCord and defending champion Dana Quigley were two strokes behind Edwards through the first three rounds. Crowd favorite Tom Watson, still trying to win his first professional tournament in his hometown, shot a 5-under 67 and was five strokes off the pace at 138.

French Open

Michael Campbell shot a 3-under-par 68 to take the third-round lead at the French Open despite a triple bogey on the next-to-last hole in which a spectator kicked the ball.

The 2005 U.S. Open champion was at 10-under 203. He overtook second-round leader John Bickerton of England, who had a 71 for a 204. Denmark's Anders Hansen (68) and Wales' Bradley Dredge (71) share third at 206.
