Sophomore tailback Tim Holloman, Southeast Missouri State's leading rusher, appears to be questionable for Saturday's home game against Samford.
Holloman suffered an ankle injury during the Sept. 16 loss at Jacksonville State. He has not practiced this week, although he was at Houck Stadium for Wednesday's workout, testing the ankle during a variety of running and sprinting drills.
Southeast coach Tony Samuel has a general policy of not commenting much about injuries, and he did not say whether he expected Holloman to play Saturday.
Holloman has rushed for 263 yards and is averaging 5.6 yards per carry. He has scored three touchdowns.
If Holloman can't go, senior John Radney would likely start. The two have basically been splitting time. Radney has 166 yards rushing while averaging 6.1 yards per carry. He leads the team with four touchdowns.
Holloman's absence would mean more action for redshirt freshman Tony Anderson, who has been impressive in limited playing time.
Anderson has 105 yards rushing and is averaging 5.5 yards per attempt.
Junior Monroe Hicks, a Central High School product, has been moved from cornerback to one of the two outside linebacker positions, which in Southeast's defensive system are somewhat similar to safeties.
Hicks, who had been starting at cornerback, is listed No. 1 on the depth chart at one of the outside linebacker spots.
"We're just trying to get our best players on the field," Samuel said.
It had been previously reported that defensive linemen Nick Ferguson and Janell Pugh have moved to the offensive line, while fullback Corey Andrade was moved to the defensive line.
The three are currently listed as backups, after they had all played sparingly this year in their former positions.
