Hogan invites Southeast students to try out for Redhawks squad

Any Southeast Missouri State students who think they've got some baseball talent -- and want to play that sport on the collegiate level -- will get their chance to make an impression Wednesday.

At 2 p.m. at Capaha Field, the Southeast baseball program will hold its annual open tryouts. While it doesn't happen often, coach Mark Hogan said there have been instances where players have made the team through the tryouts.

"It's not that likely we'll find somebody who can help us, but you never know. It's happened before," Hogan said. "But even if nobody makes it, I think it's good that we give the students a shot."
