All the local high school events reported Tuesday to the Southeast Missourian.

Jake Long belted two home runs as the Woodland baseball team routed Meadow Heights 15-1 in five innings Tuesday in Marble Hill, Mo.

Cardinals pitcher Ben Lincoln allowed one hit in picking up his first win. He struck out two in three innings.

Landon Johnson also hit a homer and added a double for Woodland (4-1).

Garrett Reynolds and Devon Ritter both had three hits for the Cardinals, who had 13 overall

Brendan Welker took the loss for Meadow Heights (0-4). Welker also had a triple at the plate.

The game was originally scheduled to be played in Patton, Mo., but was moved due to wet conditions. Meadow Heights was the home team on the scoreboard.

Josie Long hit a triple to help lead the Cardinals to a win on their home field.

Cardinals pitcher Kathlyn Cooper threw a complete game for the win. She struck out three batters and walked three.

Shelby Sawyer and Mara Grindstaff each had a double for Woodland (6-2). Grindstaff and Lacey Wilkinson both had three hits, while Sierra Owens, Aiyana Storie and Anna Deck all had two hits apiece.

Morgan Politte clubbed a triple and a double to pace Meadow Heights (0-4). Tereena Wagner also had two hits for the Panthers.

Meadow Heights was the home team, but the game was played in Marble Hill due to wet conditions at the Panthers' field.

Tiger Town Invitational

Jordan Barber posted a first-place time of 50.32 seconds in the 400 meters to lead the Notre Dame boys to fourth place at the Tiger Town Invitational in Festus, Mo.

Barber also finished second in the 200 in 23.79 seconds. Collin Boner finished second place in the high jump, while Nick Brindley took third place in the discus and shot put.

Central, which placed 13th overall, was paced by Ferdinand Bush's fifth-place finish in the 800.

On the girls' side, Notre Dame placed 10th. Marissa New led the Bulldogs by placing second in the discus and third in the shot. Jaden Barnes finished second in the pole vault.

For Central, Kylee Stevenson and Olivia Bess-Rhodes placed third and fourth, respectively, in the pole vault. The Tigers finished 13th.
