Al Young scored a game-high 34 points, powering the Cape Central boys basketball team to a 72-64 win over West County on Wednesday at Cape Central High School.
The Tigers carried a 30-25 lead into halftime before extending their lead to 15 points heading into the final period. Cape Central improved to 15-5 on the season.
Parker Forshee scored 25 points to lead the Bulldogs, while Jacob Meinershagen (14) and Roger Vance (10) also finished in double figures.

The Owls had four players reach double figures in the home rout of the Indians.

The Tigers had a relay team qualify for state for the first time in eight years, as their 200 freestyle relay team of Allison McDonald, Olivia Priest, Molly Phegley and Josey finished first with a time of 1:45.83.
McDonald placed first in the 50 freestyle with a state-qualifying time of 25.26 for Central.
The Bulldogs' lone first-place finish came from Carly Pujol, who won the 1-meter diving (189.3).
