High school roundup: Williams leads Woodland to first win of year

The Woodland boys basketball team collected its first win of the season Friday.

The Cardinals outscored Meadow Heights by 10 points in the third quarter and held on for the 76-71 victory.

It was the first win of coach Brad Adams' career, and it came against his alma mater.

Martin Williams scored 34 points and Neil Johnson added 20 for the Cardinals (1-10).

Daylan Davis led the Panthers with 18 points.

Jackson collected seven first-place finishes and 120 points to claim victory at the Rec Center Relays held at the Student Aquatic Center at Southeast Missouri State.

Central, which finished second with 92 points, had two first-place finishes and three second-place finishes.

Allison Hobbs and Kyleigh Troxel both swam on four victorious teams for Jackson.

Morgan Maguire, Taylor Nolan, Shelby McCord, Katie Garner and Jenny Powell all were members of three Indians winning teams.

Lizzie Schmidt and Maddie Siefert both helped two Central teams earn wins.
