The top three seeds advanced forcefully through the opening round of the Oran Invitational on Monday night.

Top-seeded Oran cruised to a 94-36 victory over No. 8 Bell City; No. 2 Chaffee rolled to a 90-41 win over No. 7 Richland; and No. 3 Scott County Central posted a 74-29 victory over No. 6 Kelly.

Hunter Schlosser led the way for Oran with 21 points. The Eagles led 61-18 by halftime. Jacob Priggel (19), Seth Ressel (14), Thomas Trankler (11) and Chance Tenkhoff (10) rounded out five players in double-figure scoring for Oran.

Peyton Montgomery paced Chaffee with 24 points in its victory, while Charlie Montgomery (19), Layton Tenkhoff (18) and Trevor Morehead (16) also finished in double figures.

Colbey Gammons scored 16 points for Bell City.

Javonta Daniel led Scott County Central with 14 points. Juwan Owens and Kendall Blissett both netted 12, while Jeffery Porter had 11. The Braves by 20 points after the first quarter and took a 41-14 lead into halftime.

First-round action concludes today, when No. 4 Malden faces No. 5 Advance at 6 p.m. The winner will face Oran in a 6:30 p.m. semifinal Thursday. Chaffee and Scott County Central will follow at 8 p.m.

The championship is scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday.

Farmington 60, Jackson 50

The Knightettes avenged a season-opening, 19-point loss to Jackson in the first round of its own Farmington Invitational on Monday.

Fourth-seeded Farmington advanced to Friday's semifinals against top-seeded Dexter, which opened with a 90-21 rout of No. 8 Roosevelt. Fifth-seeded Jackson will play Rososevelt at 6 p.m. Thursday in the consolation semifinals.

Third-seeded Notre Dame will face sixth-seeded Notre Dame (St. Louis) in a first-round game at 6 p.m. today.
