The season got off to a rough start for the St. Vincent football team Friday.
The Indians surrendered 41 points before halftime and fell to host Park Hills Central 41-6.
Tim Schumer threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Adam Winkler for the Indians' lone touchdown, which came in the third quarter.
Schumer was 7 of 17 for 125 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions.
Winkler caught three passes for 99 yards and one touchdown.
Phillip Ernst had two catches for 18 yards, while Nathan Comte caught one pass for 15 yards.
Ryan Boxdorfer caught one for 11 yards.
Mitch Presnell carried eight times for 36 yards, while Schumer had nine carries for 19 yards in the loss.
Ryan Weissing had two carries for 4 yards, while Derek Joggerst had one carry for 3 yards.
On the defensive end, Josh Welker recorded five tackles for the Indians.
Park Hills scored all its points before halftime.
The Indians will play their home opener Friday when they host Scott City.
The Pirates dropped their season opener on the road.
Perryville will play its home opener Friday when it hosts De Soto.
The Crusaders had just three hits in a five-inning road loss.
Sydney Rapp took the loss on the mound.
