Senior Farrah Malik scored a team-high 18 points to lead Central to an 87-52 victory against Sikeston in girls basketball action Wednesday.

Malik hit four 3-pointers on senior night at Central.

Fellow senior Sadie Pittman scored 15 points and added five rebounds, four assists and four steals, while senior Paige Smith scored 12 points and recorded four steals. Senior Starr Harris added 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds as the Tigers improved to 15-7.

The Rams got an early look at their opening-round foe in the Class 3 District 1 tournament, and it didn't go well for Scott City.

Grace Swann drained eight 3-pointers and finished with 33 points for the Eagles.

Katie Hogan led the Rams with 26 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Ashley Brant grabbed nine boards and added 14 points. Stephanie Essner scored 14 points and dished out six assists before fouling out for Scott City, which fell to 15-5.
