All the events reported to the Southeast Missourian on Thursday night.

Saxony Lutheran, Leopold, Advance and Woodland all reached the semifinals of the Woodland Invitational volleyball tournament with wins Thursday night.

Saxony Lutheran rallied for a 22-25, 25-16, 25-14 win over Meadow Heights, and will face Leopold in today's first semifinal at 5 p.m. The Wildcats cruised with a 25-14, 25-14 win over Zalma.

Advance and Woodland will meet in the other semifinal at 6 p.m.

The Hornets beat Oak Ridge 25-9, 25-16, while the Cardinals defeated Bell City 25-9, 25-15.

Raegan Wieser had nine kills and two blocks in the win for Saxony Lutheran (2-1-2). Logan Franke also had nine kills. Brianna Mueller had six aces and 22 assists, while Abigail Bergman had 14 digs.

In Advance's win, Krystal James and Brylee Morse each had five kills. Maddie Kennedy had four aces, while Lexis Garner had five digs and Alanis Below had four digs.

The losers of tonight's semifinals will meet at 7 p.m., and the semifinal winners will meet in the championship at 8 p.m.

SOFTBALL

Chaffee 3. Jefferson 1

Kylie Wilhite's RBI single in the fifth inning helped Chaffee to a win at home.

The Red Devils (1-2) made a late comeback, scoring one run in each of the final three innings.

Carleigh Burnett picked up the win in the circle for Chaffee. She pitched a complete game, striking out five and allowing just four hits.

Dakota Pepple had a double among Chaffee's four hits.

Kelly 7, East Carter 1

Kelly iced a road win with four late runs in its road victory.

Samantha Ratledge and McKynlee Neumeyer each had an RBI triple in the Hawks' four-run seventh inning.

"We got adjusted late and finally started hitting," Kelly coach Rhonda Ratledge said. "It was nice to see run production."

Alexis Dock recorded the win for Kelly (2-0), allowing two hits and striking out six.

Dock also went 3 for 4 at the plate with a double. Samantha Ratledge, Neumeyer and Shanda Reed each added two hits in the Hawks' 13-hit attack.

Nikki Peters got off to a strong start for the Bulldogs, pitching them to a road win in their season opener.

The senior pitched all seven innings, striking out five and allowing three hits.

Christina Scherer provided most of the offense for Notre Dame (1-0).

Scherer went 2 for 3 with an RBI double in the third inning.

Payton Friga also scored in the inning, singling and later coming home on an error.

Allie Cummins went 2 for 2 with a triple as the Eagles won their season opener on the road in five innings.

Aubrianna Jones picked up the win for Oran (1-0). She went three innings and struck out five.

Tatum May pitched two hitless innings of relief, striking out five of the six batters she faced.

The Pirates picked up their first win of the season at home.

Perryville (1-0) received eight kills from Senior Alex Spears and three aces from Brooke Moll.

Libbi Schnurbusch recorded three digs and Kayla Buxton had 10 assists.

Bailey Manley had five kills and Kassidy Pannier recorded six assists for the Tigers (2-1).

JV -- Perryville won 25-11, 25-22.

BOYS SOCCER

Festus 2, Saxony 0

The Crusaders suffered their first loss of the season in the Festus Classic.

Saxony (1-1) won its first game 2-0 over Festus on Tuesday night.
