High school roundup: Season ends for Central's Powell

Central sophomore Josey Powell lost in the opening round of the Class 2 Sectional 1 individual tournament on Tuesday at the Sunset Tennis Central in St. Louis.

Powell, the Class 2 District 1 champion, fell to Lafayette's Haleigh Chobanian 6-0,6-0 to finish with an overal record of 12-11 this season.

Lydia Goodson finished with 12 kills while Kaitlin Welter finished with 11 assists and six kills. Taylor Feeney had six kills and Madeline Rosenquist had three aces

Trinity 25-15-17

Eagle Ridge beat Trinity in a three-game match.

Callie Hefner had 11 aces with 10 assists and Emily Jackson scored with eight aces and seven kills.
