All the local high school events reported Monday to the Southeast Missourian.

The Scott City girls basketball team downed Oran 62-37 in the first round of the Chaffee tournament Monday night.

The Rams led by eight at halftime before pulling away in the third quarter.

Katie Hogan scored a game-high 19 points, while Lyndsie Robert added 17 in the win.

Chrissy Sauceda led the Eagles with 16 points.

Top-seeded Sikeston rolled past No. 8 Chaffee 63-44 in a first-round game.

Jordi Pruitt led the Red Devils (1-2) with 22 points, while Ellie Sigman added 10 points.

No. 5 Woodland dumped No. 4 Kelly 55-31 in another first-round game.

Kendra Pinkley netted 22 points, while Josie Long added 14 points in the win.

Tessa Johnson led Kelly with 10 points.

Chaffee will face Kelly in the consolation bracket 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, while Woodland will take on Sikeston at 8 p.m. Scott City will play the winner of today's Delta vs. East Prairie matchup Thursday at 7:30 p.m., while Oran plays the loser at 6 p.m.

Principia dual

Notre Dame had four unbeaten wrestlers to help it place third in the six-team Principia dual meet over the weekend.

Caleb Heisserer (113 pounds), Trenton Gross (126), Joe Yuede (145) and Trever Foltz (182) all went 5-0 in the competition. Noah Huff (106) finished 4-1, while Austin Harter (132), Tyler Hulshof (152), Garrett Watson (160), Alex Elsey (170) and Sam Moses (285) all went 3-2.

Notre Dame finished with 248 points, placing behind St. Clair and Principia, who both finished with 282 points.
