All the local high school events reported Monday to the Southeast Missourian.

Monday's opening round of the Scott-Mississippi Conference girls basketball tournament produced two upsets, led by seventh-seeded Scott City edging second-seeded Chaffee 45-42.

Lyndsie Robert led the Rams with 17 points. Natalie Woods added 14 points.

Lindsey Harrell paced the Red Devils with 11 points. Jordan Pruitt added 10 points.

The Rams will face third-seeded Scott County Central at 7 p.m. Wednesday in one semifinal. The Bravettes rolled over No. 6 Kelly 69-51.

Johniqua Fort scored 18 points to lead Scott County Central while Mikaela Blissett added 17 points and Derien Ditto 11.

Stephanie Worth totaled 19 points for the Hawks. Tessa Johnson contributed 13 points and Logan Ivie added 12.

The other upset came during the last game of the evening as host No. 5 Oran beat fourth-seeded East Prairie 58-54.

Addie Kielhofner led the Eagles with 20 points while Taylor Nenninger added 13 and Allison Cummins had 12.

East Prairie's Lauren Magee scored 18 points.

Oran will face the winner of top-seeded Charleston and No. 8 Delta in Wednesday's other semifinal at 8:30 p.m.

Charleston and Delta The Bobcats square off at 7:30 p.m. today to complete the opening round.

Shelby Beussink scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Bulldogs to a road win.

Miranda Fowler added 16 points, while Annie Siebert and Kaitlin Welter both scored 12 points for the Bulldogs (10-2).

Welter also dished out four assists, Siebert grabbed five rebounds, and Beussink had three steals.

Rachel Williams led Farmington with 17 points.

J.C. Chapman had a game-high 23 points to pace the Appleknockers.

The Pirates will face top-seeded Chester at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
