Otto Porter picked up where he left off for the Scott County Central boys basketball team.

The standout senior poured in 37 points, but it wasn't enough as the Braves dropped their season opener 68-60 to North Little Rock, Ark., at the Riverbend Classic tournament Friday.

The Braves jumped out to a nine-point lead after the first quarter but got outscored in the remaining three quarters.

No other SCC player scored more than five points.

The Braves regrouped to earn their first win of the season Saturday.

SCC knocked off East Poinsett County 73-55.

The Braves opened an 11-point lead at the intermission, but East Poinsett County cut its deficit to five points entering the fourth quarter.

SCC (1-1) put it out of reach over the final eight minutes.

The Bulldogs rode the hot shooting of senior guard Justin Stotts to a pair of victories to open their season.

Stotts scored 21 points in Friday's 84-22 win over Bunker then led the team with 32 points in Saturday's 81-61 win over Alton.

Senior Stephen Simmers added 31 against Alton and 16 against Bunker.

Gage Lemons paced the Bulldogs with 22 points against Bunker.
