Noah Vandiver scored a game-high 22 points to help the No. 12 seed Bloomfield Wildcats upset No. 5 Saxony Lutheran 63-48 in the opening round of the 57th Annual Bloomfield Christmas Tournament.

The Crusaders held a 33-19 lead at halftime before a determined Bloomfield squad responded in the second half.

The Wildcats outscored Saxony Lutheran by 29 points after halftime to advance to the quarterfinals. Triston Mitchell recorded 16 points while Nathan Newell contributed 13 points for the Wildcats in the win. Bloomfield will take on No. 4 South Pemiscot today at 5:30 p.m.

Jack Lake paced the Crusaders with 19 points. Ryan Palmer added 14 points and Zach Beal had 10 points.

Saxony Lutheran (4-3) will face No. 10 Doniphan this morning at 10 a.m. in the consolation bracket.

West County 53, Perryville 46

Ahnie Hoff notched a game-high 23 points and snagged 13 rebounds but it wasn't enough as the fifth-seeded Pirates fell to No. 4 West County 53-46 in the first round of the inaugural St. Paul Lutheran Christmas Tournament on Thursday in Farmington, Mo.

Kylie Belik added 11 points while Allison Moldenhauer tallied 10 points, seven steals and four assists for Perryville (3-4).

West County's Courtney Callahan and Hannah Beck led with 16 points apiece for the Bulldogs (4-3).

The Pirates will face No. 8 St. Paul Lutheran (2-2) today at 3 p.m. in a consolation semifinal. The host Giants were defeated by top-seeded St. Pius X of Festus 64-35 in another quarterfinal.
