The Saxony Lutheran boys basketball team opened up its season with a 70-38 win over St. Vincent on Wednesday in the Rolla "Duke" Herbert Tournament in Crystal City, Missouri.
William Rogers scored a game-high 20 points to lead Saxony (1-0), which will continue tournament play at 6 p.m. today against Jefferson. Corie Williams added 17 points for the Crusaders while Graesen Meystedt contributed 12 points.
St. Vincent (1-1) was led by 15 points from Trevor Leible. The Indians will take on either St. Clair or Herculaneum in the third-place game at 7 p.m. Friday.

Jackie Verseman led the way with 13 points for St. Vincent (2-1) while Faith Kapp and Hannah Gotto had 12 and 11 points, respectively. The Indians will continue tournament play at 6 p.m. today against Crystal City.
Sydni Basler scored a game-high 20 points to lead Valle Catholic (0-1).
