All the local high school events reported Monday to the Southeast Missourian.

Raegan Wieser scored 19 points as unbeaten and top-seeded Saxony Lutheran routed Scott County Central 94-23 in the first round of the Delta New Year's Tournament in Delta.

Brianna Mueller added 14 points for the Crusaders, who led 27-4 after one quarter and 55-10 by halftime.

Johneisha Daniel scored a team-high 10 points for the Bravettes.

The Crusaders' victory preceded two suspenseful games, including No. 6 Meadow Heights' 58-54 upset of No. 3 Woodland.

The Panthers scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to rally past the Cardinals, who led 39-38 entering the final period.

Kiana Hotop led the Panthers with 17 points. Samantha Miles added 14 points and Abi Bristow finished with 12.

Freshman Krista Rhodes scored a game-high 28 points for Woodland, which also received 11 points from Whitney Lincoln.

Host Delta, the seventh seed, waged a frantic fourth-quarter rally before falling 47-45 to No. 2 Puxico. The Bobcats outscored the Indians 20-12 in the final quarter after netting just 25 points in the previous three periods.

Tamera Crowden and Carrie Waddle each scored 11 points for Delta.

In the final game of the night, No. 4 Oran defeated No. 5 St. Vincent 45-30. Ashlyn McIntosh scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Eagles, who also received 10 points from Allison Cummins.

Saxony will face Oran at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the first championship semifinal. Puxico and Meadow Heights will follow at 8:30 p.m. The championship is slated for 8 p.m. Thursday.

The Tigers missed on two shots in the closing seconds and fell one point short in a road loss in Imperial, Missouri.

Central held a one-point lead with under 30 seconds left, but the Owls took the lead for good when they scored on an offensive rebound.

Central missed on its ensuing possession but regained control of the ball when Windsor threw the ball out of bounds after grabbing the rebound.

The Tigers misfired on their final attempt.

"We got a good shot but it just didn't go in," Central coach Sherri Shirrell said.

Sydney Tollison led the Tigers (3-6) with 18 points, while Maddie Daum added 12 point.

St. Vincent fell into a double-digit hole in the first quarter and never recovered on the road.

Jordan Rellergert paced the Indians (2-7) with 13 points.

Hunter Drake accounted for four of Bismarck's eight 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points. Bismark led 20-6 after one quarter.
