The third-seeded Perryville Pirates made quick work of the sixth-seeded Fredericktown Black Cats in a 12-1 five-inning quarterfinal win in Wednesday's Class 3 District 1 tournament at Notre Dame Regional High School.
Macey Hall got the nod in the circle. She pitched a complete game and allowed one earned run on five hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
Lilly Pecaut hit two doubles for Perryville (8-15). Courtney Wingerter also doubled and drove in three runs for the Pirates.
Marissa Lindsey went 3 for 3 at the plate to pace Fredericktown, which ended its season with a record of 3-19.
Perryville will play top-seeded host Notre Dame (18-7) today at 4 p.m. in a semifinal.

Fifth-seeded Oran dealt a major upset to fourth-seeded Winona to advance to today's semifinal in the Class 1 District 1 tournament at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
The Eagles crushed the Wildcats 15-1 in Tuesday's opening-round game.
Oran (6-15) will face top-seeded Naylor (16-9) at 4 p.m. today. Third-seeded Chaffee (8-13) will take on second-seeded Van Buren (15-6) at 2 p.m. in today's other semifinal. The championship game has been moved to 6 p.m. tonight after the completion of each semifinal due to the impending threat of inclement weather.
It took two overtimes but the Black Cats scored the tie-breaking goal to prevail at home.
Luke LeGrand and Drew Zieba each scored a goal for Saxony Lutheran (4-12-1).
The Indians (9-6-1) handed the Tigers a home loss.
Josh Scholl had three goals for Jackson while Aaron Voshage added two goals and an assist. Liam Gray and Seth Carr both had a goal. Carr had two assists and Hunter Crowden had one.
Sophomore Jenny Pullam served eight aces and had four kills to lead the fifth-seeded Bulldogs in an upset of the fourth-seeded Blue Jays in the opening round of the Mississippi Valley Conference (MVC) Tournament at Greenville High School.
Freshman Lacie VanGennip added four kills for Zalma (3-16-3). Senior Morgan McGregor had three kills, and senior Cheyenne Sitz tallied four digs to pace the Bulldogs defensively.
Oak Ridge fell to 4-14-3.
Zalma will face top-seeded host and three-time defending tournament champion Leopold (19-2-3) in a semifinal matchup at 6 p.m. tonight.

Alex Spears nailed nine kills and had seven digs as the Pirates triumphed over their crosstown rivals in straight sets at the Perry Park Center.
Brooke Moll recorded eight assists and two digs for Perryville (23-7-1). Libbi Schnurbusch tallied nine digs and two aces for the Pirates.
St. Vincent fell to 17-11-2.

Natalie Woods had four kills to pace the Rams in the loss at home to the Indians.
Anna Kern dished out three assists and served two aces for Scott City (6-19). Liz Hensley also served two aces, and Addie Evans added three assists for the Rams.
