All the local high school events reported Saturday to the Southeast Missourian.

After a sluggish start, the Perryville boys basketball team rallied to defeat host Meadow Heights 52-37 Saturday afternoon in Patton, Mo.

Perryville (2-4) trailed by six after one period but used a 21-8 second-quarter advantage to lead 27-20 at the half and take control of the game.

"We came out flat," Perryville coach Justin Dreyer said. "In the second quarter we settled down and started getting the kind of shots we knew we could get."

Nate Kinnison had three 3-pointers and scored 21 points for the Pirates while Grant Dix and Colin Schirmer scored 10 each.

Josh Douglas paced Meadow Heights (2-7) with 23 points.

Karson King scored 23 points, dished six assists and grabbed seven rebounds in the Indians' win in the Route 66 Shootout in Waynesville, Mo.

Skyler Steele added 20 points, including three 3-pointers, and Brandon Lueders snagged 13 rebounds for Jackson (4-2).

Jacob Wade paced Strafford (7-1) with 18 points.

Jack Lake scored 20 points, controlled 14 rebounds and blocked seven shots in the Crusaders' loss at home.

Gabe Bohnert added 18 points for Saxony Lutheran (2-5).

DePante Price had a game-high 36 points for Egyptian. Justin Prewitt scored 28 points for the Pharaohs.

Natalie Gremaud had 15 points and 15 rebounds to help the Pirates eke out a win on the road.

Desiree Brown added 12 points, while Ahnie Hoff recorded six rebounds for Perryville (3-2).

Emma Cook led Meadow Heights (2-4) with 15 points, including four three-pointers. Hayley Thorne added 14 points for the Panthers.

Lindbergh Invitational

Jackson's Kyleigh Troxel placed first in the 500 freestyle event with a state-qualifying time of 5 minutes, 13.12 seconds in the Lindbergh Lady Flyers Invitational.

The Indians' senior swimmer also placed second in the 200 freestyle event with a time of 2:00.55 to earn another state-qualifying bid at Saturday's 16-team tournament.

Jackson freshman Caitlyn Palmer touched the wall in 59.31 seconds to finish second and earn a state-qualifying time in the 100 butterfly event. The Indians finished ninth overall.

Notre Dame freshman Madison Heisserer finished third in the 500 freestyle in a state-qualifying time of 5:29.31. The Bulldogs placed 12th, while Central finished 14th.

Jackson placed second in a tri-meet Friday at Pattonville.

Jackson freshman Caitlyn Palmer recorded state-qualifying times in the 50 freestyle (25.72) and 100 freestyle (55.62). Kyleigh Troxel also had a state-qualifying time in the 200 individual medley, finishing second in 2:18.98.

Jeannette Powell placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:08.80) and 100 backstroke (1:07.37) for Jackson. The Indians' Alexia Phillips also was the top diver in the meet.
