The top-seeded Perryville boys basketball team got off to a good start in the Chester Invitational with an 81-30 first-round victory against Elverado on Monday.
Bryce Weibrecht, one of five Pirates to reach double figures in scoring, led Perryville (10-4) with 22 points.
Jared Thieret followed with 14 points, Colby Brown netted 13 points, and Jake Dobbelare and Cody Call both had 10.
Perryville will continue tournament play at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
