High school roundup: Perryville boys advance to Park Hills tournament semifinals

The Perryville boys basketball team earned a spot in the Park Hills Christmas tournament semifinals Wednesday.

Bryce Weibrecht and Jared Thieret both scored 17 points to lead the Pirates past South Iron 46-37 in the quarterfinal round.

Jake Dobbelare added eight points for Perryville (8-1), which will face De Soto in today's 6 p.m. semifinal.

Allison Moldenhauer scored eight of her 12 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough in the third-place game at the North County tournament.

Moldenhauer added four assists and four steals.

Natalie Gremaud scored 15 points and Courtney Borden grabbed seven rebounds. Both players fouled out.

The Pirates, who return to action Monday, fell to 4-7.
