Sixth-seed Meadow Heights jumped on third-seed Scott City in the first quarter Tuesday as it advanced to the semifinals of the Woodland tournament with a 74-59 victory in boys basketball.

The Panthers outscored the Rams 23-7 in the opening quarter as it set up an 8 p.m. Thursday pairing against No. 2 Leopold, which defeated No. 7 Zalma in Monday's first-round action.

Adam Walker scored 16 points to pace five Meadow Heights (2-0) players in double figures. Dustin Hubler added 13, Calen Buerck and Nick Webb each netted 11 and Josh Keller finished with 10.

Justin Modglin led Scott City (0-1), which was playing its season opener, with 17 points. Zach Cotner added 13 points.

Top-seed Oak Ridge and Perryville will meet in Thursday's other semifinal at 6:30 p.m. The championship is scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday.

In Tuesday's consolation action, Delta defeated Woodland 54-50.

Cody Helderman, Chase Crowden and Shelby Kight each had 11 points for Delta (1-1).

Neil Johnson netted a game-high 17 points for Woodland (0-2).
