All the local high school events reported Monday to the Southeast Missourian.

The Oran girls basketball team finished with just four players on the court but managed to squeak out a 45-44 victory Tuesday against visiting Saxony Lutheran.

Chrissy Sauceda fouled out at the beginning of the fourth, and Addie Kielhofner netted a shot with 20 seconds remaining to give Oran its first win.

Kielhofner led the Eagles (1-3) with 22 points, while Allie Cummins added 10.

Natalie Mueller led the Crusaders with 16 points.

BOYS BASKETALL Scott-Mississippi tournament

No. 2 seed Scott City got off to a good start in the first round of the Scott-Mississippi Conference tournament with a 78-39 win over East Prairie.

Zach Cotner led the Rams (12-4) with 26 points and nine rebounds, while Ryan Brock netted 14 points.

Jesse Sanders and Jonathan McFall each had 12 points, while Landon Robert had six assists.

Chaffee defeated Kelly 48-44 in another first-round game.

Alex Crowe paced the Red Devils with 18 points, while Peyton Montgomery had 10.

Brent Forck led Kelly with 15 points.

Scott City will face Chaffee in the semifinals at 8:30 p.m. Thursday
