The Jackson boys and girls track and field teams kicked off the season with first-place finishes in their five-team meet at Jackson Junior High School.

On the boys side, the Indians finished ahead of the pack in 11 events to clinch the gold. Notre Dame posted first-place finishes in seven events to place second.

For the girls, Jackson also claimed first place in 11 events to take the championship.
