Second-seeded Notre Dame posted a 5-0 victory over third-seeded Dexter in the Class 1 District 1 Tournament semifinals Tuesday at Notre Dame Regional High School.

Notre Dame (13-2) advanced to today's championship against top-seeded Kennett (13-0). The Indians knocked off fourth-seeded Fredericktown 5-0 in the other semifinal. The Bulldogs' only two losses this season have come at the hands of the Indians.

Dexter ended its season with a record of 11-5.

Julia Sutterfield belted a triple and finished with two hits to lead the host Red Devils to victory.

Carleigh Burnett was the winning pitcher for Chaffee (7-12). She threw five innings and gave up no runs on three hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Kira Cunningham took the loss in the circle for Twin Rivers (5-15). She pitched a complete game and allowed six earned runs on eight hits.

Phoenix Richard had a double and a triple and drove in four runs to pace Puxico.

The Eagles notched a big conference win on the road over the Titans to improve to 5-7.

Dashaun Blissett scored both goals for the host Tigers in the victory over the Crusaders.

Zach Morningstar had one assist for Central (3-10).

Saxony Lutheran fell to 3-8-1.

Central goalkeeper Spencer Kidd had nine saves in the shutout.

GIRLS GOLF

Class 3 District 1 tourney

Freshman Allison Bray carded a five-over-par 77 to finish fourth and help the Bulldogs to a third-place finish at the Class 1 District 1 tournament at the Forest Hills Country Club in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Bray, freshman Sarah Bell and senior Mattie Beussink all qualified to compete individually at sectionals, which will be played Oct. 6 at the L.A. Nickell Golf Course in Columbia, Missouri.

Mary Institute & St. Louis Country Day School (MICDS)'s Abigail Schroeder carded an even-par 72 to earn the medalist honors.

Jessie Gartman added eight kills and Callie Hefner dished out 20 assists for Eagle Ridge (10-3).

The Eagles notched another conference win in an earlier match over host Thomas Jefferson Preparatory School of Sunset Hills, Missouri. The Eagles defeated the Titans 25-13, 25-27, 15-6.

The Eagles notched their fourth win of the season in a three-set thriller over the Cubs on the road.

Oran improved to 4-13. Bell City fell to 3-15-2.

The Indians swept the Tigers in two sets on the road.

Central dropped to 6-13. Kennett improved to 14-5-2.

The Panthers rallied for a conference road win after dropping the first set.

Meadow Heights improved to 11-11. Zalma fell to 2-15-3.

Krista Rhodes notched five digs and served two aces to help lead the Cardinals in the conference road win.

Richland fell to 4-12-2.

Bloomfield 25 29 Advance 13 27

Brylee Morse notched four kills in the Hornets' conference loss at home.

Denae Cato and Kimsey Lillard each recorded six digs to pace the Hornets defensively. Hannah Clark dished out six assists and Alanis Below put up three blocks for Advance (12-11-2).

Bloomfield improved to 12-5-1.
