The Jackson softball team outhit Notre Dame but it was not enough as the Bulldogs cruise to a 4-2 home victory over the Indians.
Ellie Retz picked up the win in the circle for Notre Dame, which improved to 12-1. She pitched a complete game and gave up two earned runs. She had two strikeouts and walked none.
Sophie Wunderlich sustained the loss for Jackson, which fell to 5-8. She also threw a complete game and allowed two earned runs with two strikeouts and no walks.

Eann Bergman recorded two goals and three assists as the Pirates rolled and notched their 10th win of the season in the road romp of the Crusaders.
Emilio Mattingly tallied two goals and one assist for Perryville (10-1). Kyle Wood had one goal and one assist while Kwaid Fears and Pablo Mattingly added one goal apiece. Isaac Ellsworth and Cole Gerstenberger each contributed one assist for the Pirates.
Goalkeeper Trent Unterreiner had six saves in the shutout.
Saxony Lutheran fell to 5-6-1 with the loss.
Sarah Bell and Allison Bray each carded a four-over-par 40 as the Bulldogs downed the Knightettes in a dual at Dalhousie Golf Club.
Farmington's Carly Ferguson scored a two-under-par 38 to earn the medalist honors for the Knightettes.
It was the first time this season that a Notre Dame golfer did not receive the medalist honors, according to Notre Dame coach Jerry Grim.

Ashley Fritsche recorded 11 digs, eight kills and five blocks to lead the Crusaders to their 10th win of the season in a three-set victory over the visiting Hornets.
Allie Sprink tallied seven kills and four aces while Jordan Hecht dished out 19 assists and nailed five kills for Saxony Lutheran (10-7-2). Brianna Mueller notched 17 digs, 11 assists and five kills for the Crusaders, while Logan Franke had seven kills and nine digs and Claire Petzoldt contributed seven kills.
Advance dropped to 11-6-2 with the loss.

The Class 3 state-ranked Bearcats had no problem disposing of the visiting Cubs in straight sets in the conference rout.
Dexter improved to 17-3-2 overall and 5-0 in the Stoddard County Activities Association Conference while Bell City fell to 10-8-2 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

The Pirates posted an 0-2-2 record in Pool B in the opening night of the Gateway Matchup Tournament at Oakville High School in the suburban St. Louis area.
Perryville opened pool play with a split of Bishop DuBourg 25-20, 19-25. Kayla Buxton dished out 12 assists and Hannah Layton nailed six kills for the Pirates in the split with the Cavaliers.
The Pirates then fell to Nerinx Hall 14-25, 23-25. Meta Schlimpert notched four digs and Taylor Weber had two digs and one ace for Perryville in the loss to the Markers.
The Pirates then dropped the next game to Duchesne 23-25, 21-25. Maci Hotop and Emma Derickson each had three digs to pace Perryville in the loss to the Pioneers.
The Pirates concluded pool play with a split of Marquette 25-23, 21-25. Brooke Hogard and Ahnie Hoff nailed eight kills apiece for Perryville (8-6-2).
The Pirates will return to the tournament on Saturday when they will begin bracket play against Eureka at 8 a.m.
