Notre Dame rallied with the help of two Central errors in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat the visiting Tigers 4-3 on Tuesday in softball action.

Central was one out away from a 3-2 victory after starting pitcher Kadie Orenstein struck out the first two Bulldogs in the seventh, but the Bulldogs' Tiffany Wood kept the inning alive with a single to left field. Liz Kight's pop fly to the left side of the infield fell for an error, and both runners moved up on a wild pitch to set up the winning play.

"Brandi Glasteter hit a long fly ball to the sun field in left and the girl got a glove on it and it dropped for the winning run," Notre coach Jeff Graviett said.

Central, led by a home run by Sarah Kitchen, outhit the Bulldogs 9-7. Kitchen had three hits, as did Orenstein, who had a double. Brooke Anderson added two hits for the Tigers.

Orenstein went the distance and took the loss. She struck out three and walked four.

Nikki Peters pitched all seven inning for Notre Dame for the win. She struck out four and walked one.

Wood and Kayce Landewee both had two hits for Notre Dame (13-3).

Brooke Whitledge belted a home run among her two hits to lead the Indians to a home victory.

Mollie Crader had a triple, while Kaitlyn McHughes and Kayla Keith each had a double for Jackson (7-5).

Mallory Jones was the winning pitcher.

The Red Devils surrendered four runs in the bottom of the seventh in a road loss.

The Red Devils committed two errors in the inning, and the game ended when the winning run scored on a two-out wild pitch.

Carleigh Burnett took the loss in relief of Kaitlin McFerron, who pitched the first six innings. McFerron allowed four hits, struck out three and walked one.

McFerron also had a two-run home run for the Red Devils (6-8), who also received two doubles from Adrienne Eichhorn and one double from both Cierra Crites and Mackenzie Chapman. Julia Sutterfield added two hits.

Saxony Lutheran scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to win on the road.

Natalie Schlimpert had a double, went 3 for 4 at the plate and struck out five in the circle to lead the Crusaders.

Abby Hadler chipped in with a double, while Grace Mirly added two hits for Saxony Lutheran (6-7).

Oak Ridge Invitational

The Oak Ridge boys squad boasted three of the top four finishers to win its own five-team meet with 42 points.

Ethan Seyer led the Blue Jays with a second-place finish in 17 minutes, 34 seconds. Jake LeGrand followed in third, while Corvin Schoen placed fourth.

Farmington won the girls team title with 20 points. Oak Ridge's Alexis Wunderlich (22:54) was the top local runner with a seventh-place finish.
