Republic's Kami Holt and Sydney Phillips each hit a home run as the Tigers won a battle of unbeaten teams, dealing the host Bulldogs a 4-1 loss in a quarterfinal game in the Notre Dame SoftballFest on Friday.

Rachel Rook went the distance in the circle. She allowed one earned run and recorded 17 strikeouts and one walk.

Lauren Strobel hit a double and drove in two runs for Republic (6-0). The Tigers crushed St. Pius X (Festus) 18-0 in four innings in their first-round game.

Haylie Santos suffered her first loss in the circle. She threw a complete game and gave up four earned runs, struck out five and walked four.

Christina Scherer went 2 for 3 at the plate for Notre Dame (5-1).

Rylie Gant blasted a double and drove in three runs as the Bulldogs needed only five innings to dispose of Ste. Genevieve in the opening round of the Notre Dame SoftballFest.

Haylie Santos got the win in the circle. She pitched four innings and recorded three strikeouts and two walks.

Anne Ziegler also hit a double and batted in two runs for Notre Dame.

Megan Huck sustained the loss. She pitched a complete game and allowed 11 earned runs. She struck out two and walked four to pace Ste. Genevieve (1-5).

Pablo Mattingly scored the game-winning goal and had two assists as the Pirates handed the Indians their first loss of the season and booked a spot in the championship game of the Notre Dame SoccerFest.

Austin Hotop and Isaac Ellsworth netted one goal apiece for Perryville (6-1). Jacob Sparkman added one assist.

Goalkeeper Trent Unterreiner had 11 saves in the win.

Josh Scholl scored the lone goal for Jackson (2-1).

Notre Dame 1, Cape Central 0 (2 OT)

It took two overtimes but the Bulldogs finally netted a goal to clinch the semifinal victory over the crosstown rival Tigers to advance to the championship game of the Notre Dame SoccerFest.

Notre Dame improved to 2-2 while Cape Central dropped to 2-4.

Southeast (Springfield, Ill.) 2, Saxony Lutheran 1 (2 OT)

Joe Rubach scored an equalizer off a touch by Jakoaa Walther on an indirect free kick near the penalty spot with four minutes left in the second half as the fifth-seeded Crusaders fell to the fourth-seeded Spartans in penalty kicks in double overtime in the first round of the Hannibal Tournament.

Jacob Stueve had seven saves for Saxony Lutheran (3-3).

GIRLS TENNIS

Notre Dame 9, Windsor 0

The Bulldogs did not drop a single match in an easy sweep of the Owls on the road in Imperial, Mo.

Notre Dame upped its record to 5-1 while Windsor dropped to 2-4.

Emily Jackson tallied six aces, five kills and two digs for Eagle Ridge (3-2). Jessie Gartman notched five digs, four kills and two aces and Noel Friedrich added three kills for the Eagles. Callie Hefner dished out seven assists and served six aces.

Brianna Stause recorded three kills in the Eagles' loss at home to the Hornets.

McKenzie Belt served two aces and Kaitlyn Wittu added two kills for Oran (1-2).

Advance improved to 7-1-2.
