Morgan Duschell hit a triple and went 2 for 3 as the Notre Dame softball team squeezed out a 3-1 win at home over North County on Wednesday.
Nikki Peters went the distance in the circle and recorded six strikeouts and one walk for Notre Dame (8-2).
Jessica Newburry took the loss. She pitched a complete game with two strikeouts and no walks.
Sydney Parker hit a solo home run to score the only run for North County (7-3).

Benjamin Parsons scored one goal on an assist from Thomas Himmelberg and assisted a goal scored by William Pope as the Bulldogs beat the Knights (3-3) at home.
Himmelberg had eight saves at the goalie post for Notre Dame (5-1) in the shutout.
Abbie McAlister nailed 14 kills to lead the Bulldogs in the home victory.
Lydia Goodson added 12 kills and three kill-blocks for Notre Dame (5-3-1). Sam Feeney dished out 22 assists and Briley Bieser notched 14 digs for the Bulldogs.
JV -- Notre Dame won in two sets.
The Bulldogs swept the Indians in a shortened match due to the rain.
Notre Dame improved to 4-2 with the victory while Jackson fell to 2-4.

Jackson placed first in six events to edge rival Central by 12 points in a meet at the Southeast Aquatics Center.
Sophomore Jack Gard picked up a pair of wins in the 100 and 200 freestyles for the Indians.
Central freshman Brogan Davis set pool records in the 100 butterfly with a first-place time of 53.81 seconds as well as in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.95 seconds, both of which were also state-qualifying times. Davis, along with Sam Hahs, John Young and Christian Retter, also set a new pool record in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1 minute, 45.02 seconds, which is also a state cut.
