Jessica Menz delivered a two-run single in the eighth inning to lift the Notre Dame softball team past host Cobden on Thursday.

Katie Bond struck out three over eight innings in the 5-3 win.

Brianne Sanders, Summer Burger and Menz all had two hits in the win.

Abby Landewee recorded 11 kills, four digs and two service aces as the Wildcats won on the road.

Sydney Eeftink collected 16 assists, three digs and a service ace to help Leopold improve to 15-3.

Addie Kielhofner had four assists for the Eagles (2-7-2).

Chelsea Pannier led the Tigers with 11 kills, four digs and two blocks but it proved not enough as they fell short at home.

Megan Myers recorded 20 assists, followed by Chelsey Brown with eight digs and six kills for Central (13-11-2).

Heather Dietiker collected six kills and Jillian Mills added five in the Panthers' road win.

Anna-Jonesboro Invitational

The Central girls placed three runners in the top 10 to capture the title.

Jordyn Richmond paced the Tigers with a third-place finish, covering the course in 19 minutes, 42 seconds. Laura Chavez was fourth in 21:00.

The Central boys took second behind Roy Leighton's seventh-place finish. The Tigers boys also had three runners break into the top 10, but finished three points behind Herrin, Ill.
