Tom Siebert blasted two doubles to lead the top-seeded and state-ranked Notre Dame baseball team to its 10-3 semifinal victory over fourth-seeded Sikeston on Saturday in the SEMO Conference Tournament.

Adam Pope went the distance on the mound and also doubled for the Bulldogs, who improved to 19-3 with their 17th consecutive win. He allowed one earned run, struck out one and walked two.

Notre Dame will face second-seeded Poplar Bluff on Monday at 7 p.m. for the championship at Capaha Field. Poplar Bluff's Kameron Misner hit two doubles as the Mules edged third-seeded Jackson 5-4 in another semifinal on Saturday to advance.

Brandon Stuckenschneider was the winning pitcher for Poplar Bluff (15-5), while Gavon Turner took the loss on the mound for Jackson (16-8).

Turner pitched five innings and allowed five earned runs on eight hits with two strikeouts and one walk.

The Indians will face Sikeston for third place at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Capaha.

On the consolation side of the bracket, Central's Jacquen Cummins smacked a triple and batted in two runs as the fourth-seeded Tigers downed eighth-seeded Kennett 8-2 to book a spot in Monday's consolation title game with seventh-seeded New Madrid County Central at 2 p.m. at Capaha.

Chase Hagerty grabbed the win on the mound. He pitched six innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits. He recorded 11 strikeouts and no walks to lead the Tigers.

J.D. Harding added a double and two RBIs for Central (10-11).

Nathan Spence took the loss for Kennett (6-16).

New Madrid County Central (8-12) upset sixth-seeded Dexter 11-3 in Saturday's other consolation semifinal.

Poplar Bluff Invitational

The Jackson boys track and field team had five of its members place first in six events to finish behind Rockwood Summit for second place at Friday's Poplar Bluff Invitational.

Caleb Bess won the 800 and 1600 runs and Ean Buffington took first in the 3200 run for the Indians. Ty Crowden posted a first-place time in the 300 hurdles, Dakota Maddox won the pole vault and Xominique Davis clinched first in the triple jump for Jackson.

Kelly finished five points ahead of Central to place seventh overall in the team standings.

On the girls' side, Central took fourth and Jackson placed fifth overall.
