Colton Young nipped Trey Bazzell in a battle of Division I-bound pitchers.
Young led Notre Dame to a 4-3 victory over Kennett in baseball action Friday.
Young, who will play at Tennessee-Martin next season, struck out two and walked three over seven innings. He also drove in two runs with a double in the fourth inning.
Young's defense helped him out in the seventh. Kennett's leadoff batter reached first and the next batter ripped a line drive down the first-base line. But Bulldogs first baseman Wes Glaus made a diving catch and tagged first base for a double play to help out Young.
Bazzell, who will play at Murray State next season, struck out five.
