The Notre Dame baseball team continued to roll Tuesday, pounding Fredericktown 10-0 in five innings in the semifinals of the Class 3 District 1 tournament.

Notre Dame, 23-1 and ranked first in the state, will face Kennett in today's 4 p.m. title game at Dexter. Kennett, an 8-7 winner over Dexter, already has lost to Notre Dame twice this season.

Dylan Drury made quick work of Fredericktown, mowing down nine batters.

"Dylan gave us what we needed on the mound," Notre Dame coach Jeff Graviett said.

Jake Pewitt went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs, while Mark Hagedorn drove in two. Ryan Bass added two hits and Austin Greer homered.

"We made quick, but efficient work of them," Graviett said.

Class 4 District 1

Jackson won't get a chance to defend its district title after an extra-inning semifinal loss, 5-4 to North County at Farmington.

The third-seeded Indians led 3-1 before the second-seeded Raiders scored twice in their final chance in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Jackson's Tyler Qualls hit a solo homer in the top of the ninth to put Jackson up 4-3, but North County won it with two runs in the bottom of the frame.

"It was a very tough loss," Jackson coach Rob French said.

Travis Hurst pitched 5 2/3 strong innings for Jackson (12-14), allowing an unearned run and five hits.

Bobby Clark allowed the two seventh-inning runs by North County without retiring a batter in the frame. Caleb Hosey recorded the final three outs in the seventh and worked a scoreless eighth before suffering the loss in the ninth.

Clark and Michael Mouser both had two hits for Jackson.

Chaffee suffered a 1-0 semifinal loss at Oran as Bernie scored an unearned run in the sixth inning.

Andrew Dooley allowed just four hits in defeat. He struck out eight and walked two.

"He really pitched a good game," Chaffee coach Brian Horrell said. "It was a tough loss."

The Red Devils (10-9) had only two hits but drew eight walks from Bernie's Quenton Stevens, who struck out 13.

"We threatened all day. We had the bases loaded twice," Horrell said. "We just couldn't break through."

Class 1 District 3

Oak Ridge downed Leopold 9-5 in a semifinal at South Iron.

Brett Thomas went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and two walks. He delivered three RBIs.

Stephen Wright and Garret Light both added two hits for Oak Ridge (11-6). Wright pitched six innings for the win.

The Blue Jays, the No. 2 seed, will face South Iron, which beat top-seeded Bismarck 4-0, at 4 p.m. Thursday for the title.
