All the local high school events reported Thursday to the Southeast Missourian.

The Notre Dame boys won seven events and edged host Ste. Genevieve to claim the Old Settlement Invitational by 2 1/2 points Thursday.

The Bulldogs finished with 145.5 points, while the Dragons had 143. Valle Catholic was a distant third with 99.

Notre Dame's Seth Sievers turned in victories in the shot put and discus, while Jordan Barber won the 400 meters, Carson Bruenderman finished first in the 800 and Matthew Parsons claimed the 110 hurdles.

Barber, Breunderman and Devin Ziegler also ran legs on the victorious 1,600 and 3,200 relays. Nick Legrand rounded out the 1,600 relay team, while Cole Ross ran on the 3,200 team.

Notre Dame's girls finished third in the team competition with 88.5 points. Saxony Lutheran, led by a first-place finish by Tess Daniel in the 100, was ninth. Ste. Genevieve won with 132 points.

Notre Dame's quartet of Edie Salter, Taylor Hess, Ariel Dumars and Madison won the 1,600 relay.

GIRLS SOCCER

Perryville 1, Central 0

The Perryville girls soccer team remained undefeated in pool play at the Hillsboro tournament with a win over Central.

The Pirates, 2-0 in tourney play, improved to 6-3 on the season.

Allison Moldenhauer scored the Pirates' only goal, with an assist from Maria Thieret. Keeper Miranda Stortz recorded the shutout.

The Pirates finish pool play at 7:30 p.m. today against Maplewood. A win puts them in Saturday's championship.

BOYS Golf

St. Vincent 178, Hillsboro 216

Levi Gotto and Alex Miget both shot 42s to lead the St. Vincent golf team to a 38-stroke victory against Hillsboro at Perryville Country Club.

The Indians also received a 46 from Zach Heberlie and 48 from Kelly Welker.

BOYS TENNIS

Dexter 5, Notre Dame 4

Dexter won four of the six singles matches in beating the visiting Bulldogs.

Nick Essner and Zach Anderson won singles matches for Notre Dame. The players also were part of Notre Dame's two winning doubles teams.
