Tyler Allen recorded five kills as the Bulldogs downed defending state champion Parkway Central 25-14, 25-21 on Thursday to advance to the Class 3 state championship match.

"We played fundamentally solid the whole game," Notre Dame coach Mark Moore said. "That's kind of been the key to our success all year."

John Fennewald tallied four kills and Rhett Simmons had two kills and two aces for the Bulldogs (25-8), who will face host Westminster Christian Academy (24-11-1) at 7 p.m. today in Town & Country, Missouri. The Wildcats defeated Fort Zumwalt South (8-22-2) to advance.

Notre Dame defeated Westminster earlier this season in the St. Louis Preseason Blast Tournament. Moore said he feels good about his team's chances.

"They're a good team. They're playing well to get where they are now," he said. "They'll be on their home court, so we'll have a few things stacked against us, but if we stick to the game plan, it should turn out well."

Parkway Central ended its season with a record of 21-16-1.
