All the local high school events reported Thursday to the Southeast Missourian.

The Notre Dame baseball team suffered its first loss of the season as host Ste. Genevieve rallied to squeeze out a 3-2 victory Thursday.

The Dragons improved to 10-1 and dropped the Bulldogs to 9-1.

Notre Dame scored both its runs in the second inning. The Dragons scored once in the sixth and twice in the seventh.

Cody DeBrock had two of Notre Dame's five hits, including a double.

Brock Kreitler belted a home run and a double while going 3 for 3 to lead Ste. Genevieve.

Ryan Fortner had a triple and a double to help the Rams to a road win.

Brett Dirnberger was the winning pitcher and also tripled. He threw three innings and gave up two runs, none of which were earned, and had five strikeouts.

Levi Pettit and Travis Phillips both had three hits for the Rams (5-1). Jonathan McFall added two hits.

Cody Neldon had three hits to pace the Bearcats (4-5).

Kelby Brown went 3 for 4 and drove in two runs to lead the host Blue Jays (2-1).

Lance Rohde picked up his first win of the season. He pitched six innings and gave up one hit and no earned runs with 10 strikeouts.

Hunter Seyer also went 3 for 4, while Rohde added two hits.

Chance Tenkhoff was the winning pitcher. He threw six innings and gave up two unearned runs on four hits and had five strikeouts.

Tyler Gilmore had two hits to pace the Eagles.

Allison Woodfin went 2 for 4 and drove in three runs to help the Wildcats remain unbeaten.

Dana Thiele went 3 for 3 and Ashlyn Bucher 3 for 4 for Leopold (5-0).

Lexi Vandeven picked up her second win of the season in the circle. She pitched all seven innings and struck out 12 batters.

Leopold center fielder Leah Landewee caught a ball that appeared to be a home run before the sophomore snagged it.

"That catch...she robbed a girl of what should have been a home run," Leopold coach Keenan Kinder said. "It was an awesome catch."

Perryville's Alexis Sutterer, the seventh shooter in penalty kicks, broke a deadlock and lifted Perryville over its crosstown rivals.

The Pirates (4-3) prevailed after neither team scored during regulation and two overtime periods.

Kelly 1, Perryville JV 0

Kelly, in its first year fielding a soccer team, won its first game of the season against the Perryville junior varsity squad.

Jade Rampley scored the lone goal on an assist from Tessa Johnson.

Goalkeeper Katie Koonce had the shutout for the Hawks (1-6).

BOYS GOLF

St. Vincent 174, Windsor 184

Kelly Welker shot a 6-over-par 41 at the Perryville Country Club to help the Indians get the win.

According to longtime St. Vincent coach Tom Prost, Welker became the first female to ever earn medalist honors for the school's boys team.
