All the local high school action from Saturday reported to the Southeast Missourian.

Notre Dame senior Ryan Johnson ran to victory in the boys race at the Farmington Invitational cross country meet Saturday.

Johnson crossed the line in 16 minutes, 38.83 seconds to help the Bulldogs finish second. Farmington won with 44 points to 47 for Notre Dame.

Cody Moore also broke into the top 10 for Notre Dame, taking ninth in 17:34.90.

Kelly's Cody Kern finished fourth (17:11.74).

Chaffee junior Luisa Boschan finished second overall in the girls race, covering the course in 20:00.01.

Notre Dame's girls finished second with 64 points. Farmington won the meet with 32.

Elizabeth Kiblinger paced the Bulldogs with a third-place finish (20:52.72).

Saxony Lutheran's Kristin Dippold finished fourth (21:27.84), while Scott City's Libby Miles was eighth (21:56.77).

James Holloway recorded the shutout as the Bulldogs earned the home win.

Jacob Pewitt and Jack Mocherman both scored for the Bulldogs (8-11).

Joe Froemsdorf and Taylor Essner recorded the assists.

BOYS SWIMMING Lindbergh Invitational

Central finished sixth out of nine teams with a score of 220, while Ladue won the meet with 459.

The Tigers' 200 freestyle relay of Jordan Gramling, Ramsey Scott, Sam Gramling and Caleb Coots finished second in 1:34.80, a state-qualifying time.

Coots won the 100 butterfly and took second in the 200 individual medley.

Sam Gramling finished second in the 200 and 500 freestyles.

VOLLEYBALL SEMO Conference tournament

Oran lost to Sikeston in the championship match, 17-25, 25-20, 18-25.

Amanda Young had three kills, four digs and two blocks, while Holly Milam smashed six kills and added a block for the Eagles.

Taylor Irwin had 10 assists and two aces, and Kali Mills added two kills and three aces for Oran (5-13-2).

Festus tournament

Notre Dame placed fourth in the Festus tournament.

In pool play, the Bulldogs beat Seckman 25-16, 25-13 in their first match. The Bulldogs then beat Union 25-13, 25-12, and Webster Groves, 25-23, 25-13. The Bulldogs lost their last pool-play match to Lutheran South, 25-16, 25-22, to finish second in pool play.

In bracket play, the Bulldogs beat Northwest 25-16, 25-13 behind Shannon Brennan's 17 assists and Meghan Dohogne's 11 kills. Lindsay Strieker had five kills and Allyson Bradshaw added four in the win. Alyssa Ruopp added two aces and seven digs.

The Bulldogs lost to DeSoto 25-17, 25-20 in the semifinals.

Dohogne led the team with five kills and nine digs. Brennan and Amy Wibbenmeyer both added three kills. Brennan also had 10 assists for the Bulldogs (27-4).
