Lane Baremore netted 19 points as host Meadow Heights staved off a scare from a determined Zalma squad, 76-70, to finish 3-0 to clinch the championship of the Mississippi Valley Conference (MVC) Tournament.
Blake Bollinger sank 15 points for Meadow Heights (14-5), which held a six-point lead at halftime before the second-half stalemate. Devin Wilfong tossed in 14 points and Spencer Bragg added 12 points for the Panthers.
Dallan Stotts recorded a game-high 21 points while Jacob Steinberg pitched in 19 points to pace the Bulldogs (11-9), which finished the tournament 1-2 for third place.

The Indians placed first in all but one event to win a dual with the Piranhas at the Southeast Aquatics Center.
Jackson's Caitlyn Palmer set two state-qualifiers for the Indians. The senior posted first-place finishes in the 50 freestyle (25.41 seconds) and 100 freestyle (56.34 seconds) to qualify. Freshman Faith Littleton also set a state cut in the 200 freestyle with a first-place time of 1 minute, 59.65 seconds, which also shattered the pool record of 2:01.63 that fellow Jackson alum Kyleigh Troxel set in 2011.
Senior Mollie Kluender was the lone victor for the Piranhas in the 500 freestyle with a time of 7 minutes, 45.55 seconds.
