All the local high school events reported Monday to the Southeast Missourian.

Jack Litzelfelner proved once again why he is the defending Class 3 state golf champion.

The Notre Dame sophomore carded a 1-under-par 71 to earn the medalist honor and lead the Bulldogs to first place at the Class 3 Sectional 1 on Monday at Quail Creek Golf Club in St. Louis.

Notre Dame finished with a 313 total to finish 23 strokes ahead of runner-up Priory.

Senior Brady Dixon, last week's district medalist, finished four strokes behind his teammate to take second place individually.

Trent Schumer (82) and Nick Cantoni (85) rounded out the Bulldogs' team score.

Notre Dame will compete at the Class 3 tournament May 19 and 20 at Fremont Hills Country Club in Nixa, Missouri.

Class 4 Sectional 1

Central's Travis Simmons shot a 3-over-par 74 at The Missouri Bluffs Golf Club in St. Charles, Missouri, and was the lone local competitor to advance to the Class 4 state meet.

The Class 4 state tournament will be held May 19 and 20 at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Simmons finished in a tie for fourth place with Parkway South's Jacob Kuhnmuench, St. Louis University High's Ryan Pilcher and Fox's Tyler Ward.

Jackson finished with a 319 total to finish sixth in the teams standings and did not advance. SLUH (303) and Lafayette (305) finished 1-2 in the sectional.

Marquette's Frankie Thomas carded a one-under-par 70 to earn the medalist honor.

Hunter Asher led the Indians with a 77 but finished one stroke out of qualifying individually. The top two teams and the top 12 individuals not on those teams advanced to the state meet.

Levi Gotto shot a 9-over-par 80 and was the only Indian to advance to the state tournament as St. Vincent finished fourth among the four teams at The Golf Club at Deer Creek in Linn Creek, Missouri.

Advance sophomores Brian Whitson and Spence Lorch also advanced to the state meet May 19 and 20 at the Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Missouri.

Whitson, who qualified last year as a freshman, and Lorch were among the top 12 individuals not on the two qualifying teams.

Thayer's Spencer Ary finished with a 3-over 74 to earn the medalist honor.

Whitfield's Chase Kinder shot a six-over-par 77 to earn the medalist honor.

Paris Johnson and Luke LeGrand each hit a double as the Crusaders picked up their 10th win of the season in a road rout.

Conrad Bonney was the winning pitcher for Saxony Lutheran (10-12). He went the distance and allowed six hits, struck out eight and walked four.

Brendan Welker was the losing pitcher.

Jordan Yamnitz doubled and went 3 for 4 at the plate to pace Meadow Heights (1-16).

Hunter Schlosser allowed one hit over five innings to lead the Eagles to a home victory.

Schlosser struck out four and walked one.

Seth Ressel and Jacob Priggel each had two hits, including a double, for Oran (14-8). Tannery McVay and Preston Hahn both added a double, while Thomas Trankler had two hits.

Austin Hicks took the loss for Bell City (7-10).

Cole Nichols accounted for two of the Cubs' five hits.

Cox struck out eight, walked one and allowed four hits in the win.

Kyle Kerby had an RBI double for Scott City (13-11). Tyler Rogers had two of the Rams' six hits.

Levi Alsup took the loss for Kelly.

Jordan Nelson scored three goals to lead the Bulldogs in their win.

Abby Boyer added two goals for Notre Dame (16-1-1), while Krissy Gaines and Halle Lynch each had one. Madeline Rosenquist tallied one goal and one assist, while Annie Siebert had two assists.

MacKenzie McDaniel, Shelby Beussink and Karsen Powers each had an assist.

Madison Buelow made four saves in the shutout.

Central fell to 7-15.
