Dillan Vandeven limited seventh-seeded Lesterville to three hits and had a two-run triple to lead No. 2 Leopold to a 10-0, six-inning win in the opening round of the Class 1 District 3 Tournament at South Iron High School in Annapolis, Missouri.

Vandeven struck out seven and walked two in pitching a complete game.

The Wildcats provided him with the only run he would need in the first inning when Austin Bucher led off a triple and scored on a passed ball.

Leopold added a run in the third, three in the fourth and five in the sixth. Vandeven tripled in the sixth, and Bucher later followed with a one-out RBI single to enact the run rule.

Bucher finished with three hits, including a double. Casey Graham also had a double for the Wildcats, who improved to 6-10 with the victory.

The Bearcats ended their season with a record of 4-14.

Leopold will face third-seeded Valley (Caledonia) in a semifinal contest at 3 p.m. today. The Vikings defeated sixth-seeded Viburnum 3-2 in another quarterfinal later in the day to advance.

Chaffee 16, Bloomfield 4

Storm Estes belted two home runs and doubled to lead the top-seeded Red Devils to a five-inning rout of the fourth-seeded Wildcats in the semifinal at Bernie, Missouri.

Estes also picked up the win on the mound. He pitched four innings and gave up two earned runs on seven hits, struck out two and walked two.

Devon Yahn and Ryan Lohmann also each hit a home run for Chaffee (21-3).

Tim Hector suffered the loss for Bloomfield (14-10). He threw three innings and gave up one earned run on four hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

Jacob Hector went 3 for 3 at the plate to pace Bloomfield.

Chaffee will face third-seeded Bernie for the district title at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The Mules (19-3) upended No. 2 Greenville 18-4 in Monday's other semifinal.

Peyton Maddox recorded the win on the mound and also doubled to lead the fourth-seeded Cubs to a first-round victory over the fifth-seeded Braves in Oran, Missouri.

Nolan Schaefer added a double for Bell City (7-11).

Nathan Parker and Robert Cain each hit a double to pace Scott County Central (1-11).

The Cubs will face top-seeded Oran in today's second semifinal at 4 p.m. Second-seeded Oak Ridge will face third-seeded Advance in the other semifinal at 2 p.m.

Preston Wuebker was the winning pitcher. He went the distance and allowed one earned run on two hits while recording nine strikeouts and two walks while on the mound.

Creighton Miles added a double and went 3 for 3 at the plate for Advance (12-13).

The Warriors defeated the Indians in a semifinal matchup in Perryville, Missouri.

Valle Catholic will face Crystal City in the district championship at 4:30 p.m. today.

Girls soccer

Class 2 District 1 Notre Dame 3, Farmington 0

Madeline Rosenquist scored two goals to help the Bulldogs advance past the Knightettes in a semifinal contest.

Mackenzie McDaniel added a goal in the second half to secure the win, while Madison Buelow managed a shutout in net for Notre Dame.

Notre Dame (17-1-1) will face Sikeston in the Class 2 District 1 championship on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Class 3 District 1 Jackson 1, Northwest 0

Hailey Mouser had the Indians only goal in a win over the Lions in St. Louis, Mo.

Cassidi Tomsu had the assist for Jackson (13-5-1).

The Indians will play Seckman for the district championship at Seckman on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Boys tennis

Class 1 District 1

Notre Dame 5, Arcadia Valley 2

No. 1 seeded Bulldogs defeated the No. 2 seeded Tigers for the team district championships on their home courts.

The Bulldogs won all but two singles matches to advance to the sectional round.

Arcadia Valley had an injury default in doubles play that secured the win for Notre Dame.

Notre Dame will begin sectionals team play on at 9 a.m. Saturday at John Burroughs High School in St. Louis.
