After having fallen to East Prairie already twice this season, the third time proved to be the charm for the Kelly girls basketball team.
The fifth-seeded Hawks booked a spot in the semifinals of the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament with a 49-43 upset over the No. 4 Eagles on Monday in Morley, Mo.
Tessa Johnson recorded 16 points to lead Kelly (6-6). Stephanie Worth grabbed 11 rebounds while Samantha Ratledge had three steals for the Hawks.
Rebekah Douglas led East Prairie (4-4) with 13 points.
Kelly will play top-seeded Oran in a semifinal at 7 p.m. Thursday. The Eagles (7-3) routed eighth-seeded Delta (2-8) 69-16 in Monday's other quarterfinal game.

Clearwater's Lexi Morris busted loose for 46 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead the Tigers to victory on the road.
Morris scored all but 23 of her team's 69 points. Haley Alcorn added 13 points for Clearwater (8-2) as the Tigers dealt the Cardinals their second loss of the season.
