All the local high school events reported Friday to the Southeast Missourian.

The Jackson softball squad scored two runs in the third inning and made it stand up in a 2-0 win over Notre Dame in the opening game of pool play in the Jackson Tournament on Friday.

Sophie Wunderlich was the winning pitcher for Jackson (9-13) and had three strikeouts and no walks.

Nikki Peters took the loss in the circle for Notre Dame (17-5). She allowed five hits, struck out four and walked two.

Shiloh Kirn and Tiffany Wood each hit a double to pace the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs scored two runs in the sixth inning and did not allow the Crusaders to score a run in pool play in the Jackson Tournament.

Haylie Santos got the win in the circle. She pitched five innings and had two strikeouts.

Tiffany Wood and Christina Scherer each had a double for Notre Dame (18-5) in the win.

Natalie Schlimpert took the loss on the mound. She pitched a complete game and had no strikeouts and one walk.

Grace Mirly blasted a triple to pace the Crusaders (13-7).

VOLLEYBALL

Eagle Ridge 25-25 Westwood Baptist 11-15

Hannah Petzoldt nailed eight kills to lead the host Eagles in the victory over Westwood Baptist Academy of Poplar Bluff.

Emily Jackson added four kills and Callie Hefner dished out seven assists for Eagle Ridge (15-4).

Oak Ridge 25-25-15-25 Bell City 8-21-25-21

Emma Hemmann slammed 10 kills to lead the Blue Jays in the best three-out-of-five sets on the road.

McKenzie Elam notched six kills, and Madison LeGrand added three kills for Oak Ridge (7-10-1). Janelle Myers recorded 14 assists, while Chelsea Seyer tallied seven digs for the Blue Jays.

The Cubs fell to 5-9-4.

Woodland 25-25 Richland 10-6

Rachel Poole finished with six kills, four assists, two blocks and two digs as the host Cardinals cruised in an easy conference win over the Rebels (1-14-2).

Josie Long had four kills, five digs and three blocks, while Chelsea Cureton notched seven digs and one service ace for Woodland (18-5-1). Vanessa Wiseman added nine assists, three digs and two aces. Shelby Sawyer contributed four kills and one ace.

Advance 25-25 Oran 14-14

Allie Below dished out 17 assists and had five blocks as the Hornets stung the Eagles (4-8-2) in a win at home.

Grayson Miles nailed six kills, and Ashtyn Hudson added five kills for Advance (9-11-2).

BASEBALL

Leopold 10, Campbell 4

The Wildcats concluded their fall baseball season with a victory in the third-place game of the Bernie tournament.

Dylan Vandeven led a 17-hit attack with four hits. Zach Elfrink, Garrett Thele and Cord Cooper all had three hits.

Austin Bucher picked up the win on the mound for Leopold, which finished at 2-4-1.
